Brian got the car fixed at the Honda dealership in Carson City while we rode on with Eli's grandparents in their RV. After lunch and Eli's nap, Brian caught up with us and we drove on in to Elko, Nevada. This high desert town sits at over 5,000 feet above sea level and is the biggest town between Salt Lake City and Reno. Below is a collage of pictures from the evergreen slopes near Lake Tahoe, through the dusty mountains, and into Elko. I'm not sure how representative it is of the route and the town, but here goes...

We had supper at Amanda's Fonda, a Mexican restaurant that is in the same building at the Historic Commercial Casino. In the lobby, we came face to face with "Legendary White King," a stuffed polar bear ten feet and four inches tall...
