Ready for Halloween! We made spooky spiders to decorate the house.
We got the spider craft pattern from The Storytime Craft Book by Kathy Ross (Brookfield, CT: Millbrook Press, 2003). They are supposed to be Little Miss Muffet's spiders, but work well for Halloween. Just slide a 2-inch foam ball into a piece of old black tights and tie the ends. Unbend bobby pins for the legs, dipping the straight side into glue before you slide it into the cloth-covered foam. The eyes are thumb tacks. (Eli decided three eyes was spookier than two.) You can push a hole in the bottom of the foam spider and put it on your car antenna.
