School ended on Friday. We spent the weekend in Savannah for Memorial Day. Thus today was the first real day of summer, the first day when Eli normally would have been in preschool.
I'd forgotten this feeling of change and luxury of time. Although having Eli around all the time means a lot less writing and personal time for me, it also means a lot of lazy hanging out and exploration too. The heat is coming soon, but there is a southern summer to be savored!
We hung out all morning. I puttered around the house tidying up while Eli sailed a PlayMobil ship up and down the carpet. We poked around with craft supplies for almost an hour. Peanut butter and jelly for lunch. Then out we went to run errands and visit the library. Frozen yogurt. Cheap pool toys found at Goodwill. It is time for me to start dinner and Little Guy is out in the yard barefoot, spraying everything with a Super Soaker.
Life is good!
Love the Summer Kickoff!!
