Just after eight last night, a storm rolled in. There was rain, of course, but mostly it was a storm of rumbling and wind. The tops of the trees behind the house tossed and swayed, the deeper parts of the woods lit over and over with lightning. The power soon went out. We let Eli out of bed to snuggle in the rocking chair with me where we could look out the window. A cluster of candles made the room cozy.
The rain dropped off. Little Guy went off to bed again. I couldn't help but notice that the light outside was a strange green -- blue storm clouds mixed with gold sunset. I grabbed my camera and the tripod...
(Eli is getting a real kick out of helping me find and photograph summer joys. I love watching him embrace it all!)
