That's my niece, Margaret, atop our leftover boxes on moving day.
The look on her face? The sprawl of a tired body? Ditto for me after five weeks of intense moving and home-settling. The low-hanging fruit is definitely gone by this point. I keep poking into those last few boxes, sighing, and wandering off again.
Thankfully, today there was a breakthrough. I've always stored my cleaning supplies in the laundry room so I kept trying to make it work here, but in this house the laundry area is also a hallway leading in from the garage. There's just not room. I finally decided the closet under the stairs was the best place for the vacuum cleaner and all the supplies. (If Harry Potter comes to stay, we'll let him have the guest room.) A quick trip to Lowe's for sturdy shelving and suddenly mounds of items sitting about the house got a permanent spot. Ahhhh.
Just a few problem spots left...
- The dining room (the catch-all waiting spot for the whole house)
- My office
- Artwork
- Fine-tuning all those messy closets
Starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
